I'm trying to remember the title of a work that I read in the early 60's. The story is about some children who watch a power shovel did a hole for a cellar;they are concerned as to how the shovel will get out of the hole when it is done. The children maybe named the shovel something like "old elephant shovel " because it moved very slowly. The book is not about "Digger Dan" or "Sandy Shovel". Thanks for any help that may be given.
