Hello!
As a child, I had a hand-me-down Little Golden Book that was my favorite. I never had it with a cover, my parents and I just remember the story being about a dog that gets lost and as the children think all is lost after a day of searching, they see "two big black eyes" looking at them. Of course it is the missing dog. Yay!
Does anyone recognize this plot or the "two big black eyes" part? I would love to track the book down.
