Been collecting for 10+ years... recently came across two cloth bound books... first one is THE NEW HOUSE IN THE FOREST, second one is THE SHY LITTLE KITTEN. Both have white boarders, Shy Kitten has “SPECIAL•BOUND IN CLOTH” in the white boarder. I have never seen cloth bound Little Golden books... what can you tell me about them? They are both copyrighted 1946, with a “C”on first page after title page. Any info is appreciated!! Thanks James

Goldencraft cloth covers give a book a longer lasting cover- 6 to 8 times longer. They were made by the L.W. Singer company. These editions had a stitched spine. The fabric is called Arrestox. The ones with the white border were series one out of seven. they should have a golden wheat birder on binding. Info from Santi book 5th edition
