i actually read the little golden books in Chinese! i think there were tapes to go with them also. it was a set and i loved it dearly, but mom gave it away when we moved. i'm going to have a baby and have been almost obssessively trying to track those titles down.
i couldn't find any information as to which books the publishers/translators in taiwan picked to put in that set, but the ones i know aren't in any set i've seen online so i assume it was random. i can't remember exactly how many were there, maybe 24 or so... they were softcovers and very thin.
since i don't know the titles in english it was alittle bit like needle hunting in haystacks, but i remember the covers and some of the titles were translated similarly; also i've had a few really lucky discoveries of titles i didn't remember but recognized when i saw the covers :) anyways, so far i've managed to track down(haven't bought them yet but i will once the whole set is found):

there are maybe 3 more and one of them is about a river with animals floating down it in different fancy boats, as a competition or whatnot. it was a cute one.
