My mother-in-law said she had a favorite golden book as a child. She said it was about a dog that dressed in clothing like a human, something about a tree in it and possibly going on a trip? She couldn't remember the title but said it was published probably in the 50s. I know this is very vague but any help at all would be greatly appreciated. I would love to find this book so she could share this treasured story with her grandchildren.

This book could be Mister Dog by Margaret Wise Brown. It was first published in 1952 and had 28 pages. The newer editions are 24 pages. The dog was named Crispin's Crispian because he belonged to himself. There are some cats in a tree. The dog is dressed in the book. He met a little boy on a walk. I love the line in the book that says Crispin's Crispian was a conservative( in italics). He liked everything at the right time--
