I'm wondering if this could be The Biggest, Most Beautiful Christmas Tree with story and pictures by Amye Rosenberg, copyright 1985. It is about several different types of animals (Mr. and Mrs.Fieldmouse, Old Gray Acorn the squirrel, and the Chipmunk family - Mom, Dad, Little NIna, and Nutley) who have apartments in the trunk of a large fir tree. They get together and decorate the tree so that Santa will see it and know that there are children (chipmunks) there who would like him to visit.
I am trying to figure out the title of a LGB i read as a kid. All I can remember is that it was a bunch of little animals, maybe mice or rabbits, that lived in like a giant shoe. It seems like it was Christmas in the book, if not at least winter. I know the book went inside their "home" some, and it seems like i remember a Christmas tree. But i'm not sure. Does anyone know the name of this book???
