Man lived in a street with unique houses - his was ordinary - title?

I'm looking for the title of my childhood favourite Little Golden Book about a man who lived in a street where everyone had unique houses - i.e. shaped like a boat. His was plain until some paint fell in splotches on the roof. Any ideas?

There is a book from 1955 called "Houses" available on ecrater.com. Hope this helps.
