I am trying to find out why a book of my husband's grandmothers has a black/dark gray cloth spine. The book is "A Day in the Jungle", and is a third addition print from 1945, origional copyright 1943.
The spine was a dark blue which has probably aged. It originally came with a dust jacket which had the traditional gold spine.
