Hello. I have "Scuffy the Tugboat", copyright 1946. It has a blue cloth spine, which I know indicates that it originally had a dust jacket. It's my understanding that the letter method of indicating edition didn't start until after 1946, and that the edition should be indicated on the first or second page, but I can't find it. There are 34 LGB's listed on the back, and Scuffy is listed as #30. Can anyone help? Thanks in advance.
The dust jacketed Scuffy edition I have is what we call unstated first. There is nothing in the book to indictate a first edition. It was one of the later dust jacketed books thus the book list to 34 on the back of the book.
